Make Me Wings to Fly- Contest

This is for the contest- Steampunk.....

UGH! haha, I did wish it was another theme, but I think it definitely was time for a steampunk contest over at #color-me-club.

I thought long and hard about this one, and changed it multiple times, before settling on an "Icarus" type art nouveau piece. I kept thinking about how Icarus made his own wings out of wax, and how they melted in the sunlight, and thought what would it be like if those wings were made of metal instead? Hmmm... brain food...

I did use a brush for the gears and the clocks. I just didnt have the energy to draw them by hand. This was definitely a different style of art for me. I am not disappointed with how it turned out.
